Emily Allison, DVM

Dr. Emily Allison graduated from the University of Georgia in 2007 with a Bachelor’s of Science in Agriculture. She also went to veterinary school at the University of Georgia and graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2012. Dr. Emily worked as an associate veterinarian for four years before opening Cornerstone Animal Hospital in Alto, Georgia in May of 2016. In their free time, Dr. Emily and her husband, Jeremy, enjoy eating hot wings, spending time with their family and friends, and loving on all of their four-legged critters. She takes pride in always providing compassionate and courteous care for all of her patient and clients as well.

Kristen Schmidt, DVM

Dr. Kristen Schmidt grew up in Pennsylvania. She graduated Valedictorian from Delaware Valley University in 2017 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science. She then, went to veterinary school at The University of Florida and graduated as a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in 2021. After graduation Dr. Kristen moved to Georgia and began her veterinary career at Cornerstone Animal Hospital. She and her husband, Thomas, have 4 dogs (Betty, Phoebe, Malia, and Ellen) and 3 goats (Murphy, Matilda, and Fiona). Dr. Kristen’s passion is volunteering with the Project Street Vet organization to help care for the homeless and their pets. In her free time, if she isn’t volunteering, she and her husband enjoys traveling, hiking and doing anything where their dogs can be included.

Megan Feemster

Megan was born and raised in Habersham County. After she met her husband, Cole, they spent a few years in southwest Missouri where she worked for another mixed animal veterinary practice. They moved back to Georgia in the summer of 2021 and she started a new job at Cornerstone Animal Hospital. She is currently enrolled in an online Registered Veterinary Technician program with hopes of gaining all of the knowledge she can to continue to advocate and care for her patients. She has devoted all of her life to helping and caring for animals of all kinds. In addition to helping all of the many patients that Megan has cared for, she also enjoys opening her home to any pet in need. Megan and her husband enjoy spending time with their many fur kids, riding around in the great outdoors, or even cuddling up on the couch on a rainy day.

Amanda Wood

Courtney Talley

Courtney graduated from Rabun County High School in 2008 and then received her Associate’s Degree in Applied Science from North Georgia Technical College in 2011. She has worked for two other veterinary practices starting in 2005 before moving to Habersham County in 2016 to work with Cornerstone Animal Hospital. She says the one thing people know most about her is that she loves animals. In their spare time, Courtney and her boyfriend, Brett, love watching sports and spending time with their family, friends, and their fur-kids Riley, Harper, Garth, Sunday, and Stanley.

Rose Chappell

Rose was raised in LaGrange, Georgia, and studied at Reinhardt University in biological sciences. Rose had always worked with large animals but realized she also had a passion for small animal veterinary medicine and has never looked back. She started working at Cornerstone Animal Hospital in October 2021 and has made many friends along the way. She enjoys being a part of the team and helping save lives. At home, she enjoys sitting by the fire with her cat, Lily, and watching the sunset over her family’s farm.

Nina Sides

Nina grew up in St. Augustine, Florida, until moving to Georgia in the early 2000s. Her mother was a veterinary technician and groomer, so loving and helping animals is in her DNA. She spent almost five years in shelter medicine before joining the Cornerstone Animal Hospital team. She studied veterinary technology assistance and fear-free practice at Ashworth College. Although her passion is for all furry friends, our feline friends tend to put an extra sparkle in her eyes. She enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, and many furbabies at home. She looks forward to the future and the adventures ahead.
